This promising root is attested mostly in Central Naga (see Bruhn 2014), but with an excellent Galo cognate.
Bruhn (2014:218) suggests the connection between BURY and ENDURE as stemming from the conception of endurance as ‘burying something in one’s mind’ (see also Clark 1911:114).
