COLD / CHILLY

Intermediate reconstructions

Kuki-Chin*wot ‘COLD / CHILLY’

Notes

This root is so far best established for PKC, but there is a promising Tujia comparandum.

This etymon bears some resemblance to #3554 PTB *s-pʷal SNOW / ICE / FROST / HAIL, although they seem quite separate.

The Tibetan (Alike) form wat looks like this root, but the final -t is evidently the reflex of Proto-Bodic -l (cf. Tibetan (Amdo, Xiahe) wal).
