STC p. 174 derives GSR‘s OC *xi̯wăŋ from an earlier **plwăŋ on the basis of a possible connection with 伯 OC *păk (GSR 782i) ‘eldest brother’, as well as a putative parallel example of PST *labial-plus-w clusters becoming χw- in OC, i.e., #2152 PTB *bʷar ⪤ *pʷar BURN / FIRE / KINDLE / ROAST 燔 *b‘i̯wăn BURN / ROAST (GSR 195i) ⪤ 火 *χwâr (GSR 353a-c).
