Notes
This etymon is attested in scattered languages as the final syllable in compounds. Several other roots in the semantic area with initial *r- seem unrelated (cf. #554 PTB *s-ri(p/m) RIB / SIDE, #558 PTB *s/b-ram RIB, and #288 PTB *b/g-raŋ CHEST). The widely attested etymon for BONE (#232 PTB *s/m/g-rus BONE) is also distinct.
